This is my first time and my first post. Please forgive me if I've posted this thread in the wrong location, and thank-you in advance to any moderator who might be taxed with moving it.


I have what appears to be an orphan, an 'unbranded' DS76 series Hikvision NVR, but Hikvision says that the serial number tells them it's not one of theirs, despite it having their case, board, and proprietary software, its Netvision.


Does anything about it ring a bell with anyone? I have to correct an accidental 'factory default' that lost my camera passwords, but I can't use Hikvision's tool because it isn't a 'legitimate' serial number.


My vendor/installer's business didn't survive Covid so I don't know how else to get the back-story on this piece of equipment except to come to the experts. Please advise.

Sorry, I don't seem to understand the method by which pictures are added. No method of dragging, cutting and pasting of referencing seems to work. Until then, here is the information as it appears in the software on screen:
